Living on the east coast of Vancouver Island lets me watch crows strutting about in the surf, and let me tell you that can become a pastime. If it isn't whales, seals, birds or horses and dogs, then I'm probably sitting in my window gazing out at the flowerbeds where the roses still bloom at the end of October and the predominant color of winter is green.  Everything is green. The pine trees and the grass and all those evergreen bushes I didn't know existed when I lived on the prairies.

Writing is hard to get to when there is so much else that is asking me to pay attention, take off for the great outdoors or just sit back with my feet up and watch the world go by.

​

Somehow, with all that to distract, I have managed to have six books published and have more to come.

​

I try to set my stories in the Pacific Northwest since that is an area I love and know. The occupations my characters enjoy are not all things I've done, but with some of them, I came close.  Real close.
